I saw a post on another site that asked if there was any action in the North river or is it over for the season. Pretty funny!

I'm also happy to see other peoples fish. As you can see by my number of posts I'm not exactly a seasoned vetern here. I would be lying if I said I joined this site simply for info. I like the interaction of "fish talk" and not revealing spots and posting your catchs is one of the main reasons this site exists.
If I'm fishing with a friend and we both hook up at the same time. I honestly hope that his fish is bigger than mine. This may be due to the fact that I don't catch "cows" often, so big fish are all good to me even if its not on my line. (like when my sister caught a 38 inch bass last year and I caught blue fish and sea robins)

There is something to be said about not making any conversation on the rocks and out of habit I stay off a spot if there are people there, especially Newbies and or chunkers, nothing against either, but regardless our fishing styles probably arent going to jive, so I keep away as much as possible;
on the rocks I am far from a surf sharpie; I do pretty well from a boat and hit it hard and do OK from the surf, but I love being out there on the rocks of sand at night..... I enjoy the solitude, the quiet; there are a handfull of guys I fish with, some more than others, it is always fun, but rarely do we stand shoulder to shoulder fishing, you chat on the walk in and the walk out; the rest of the night, go fish...
My habit is to walk by people I dont know, does it make me rude? maybe no news is bad news or vise versa, but I'll stick to my stealth mode
who knows, you may inadvertanly piss someone off, then the come on here and you realize it was someone who had posted for years, or 10min later they realize they'd been had and tires are popped etc.. there are alot of wack jobs out there...
E; you did better then us; ask BIJ about the adventure too bad... they were there... just didnt get the drift figured out in time....

I don't mean to knock the guy and obviously I don't know how serious he is about the sport or the amount of time he puts in but when you've been a member of a fishing board since January of '01 I don't think your considered a newbie. I know Googan is what would come to the minds of many but again I don't know, there may be circumstances that affect some and their outcome. I'm by no means a sharpie, in fact far from it. I would consider myself a hungry as defined by one of Joe's articles (Googans Vs. Sharpies). I started to get into this seriously about a year and half ago. Fortunate for me I had over 30 plus years of freshwater fishing knowledge and principles to apply. There was still a learning curve but like many I read some of the right books, watch some fishing shows or videos and asked questions from those I know had the answers and were willing to divulge what most consider secret, treasured and valuable info. But most of all I put in the time, that more than anything is what will make you successful and take you through the steps of googan, hungry and sharpie. Time and experience will be your best teachers. It's amazing how much you can learn just by watching those who are successful, though most will happen under the cloak of darkness you'll still see plenty in the evening and false dawn till just after sunrise. Aside from this I'd recommend stopping in the local B&T, tell them what your after, ask where to go and what to use, and make a purchase. That being said I need to get out more, haven't been putting in enough time this year.
