Gotta love those rocks....right #^^^^^^&? Bassbabe and others doing well in Mass.....guessing most of you fish bait? Chunks, sandeels and the like? Yeah, you guys are doing well....but I would rather eat the sandeels and chunk bait myself than spike a rod and stare at it all day or night. Nothing wrong with it if thats what you like...all I am saying is its not my speed. I like to be more involved.

The chatter on channel 68 leads me to believe nothing is happening in Cape Cod Bay, my buddy caught 1 40# bass but in all honesty the fishfinder was not marking any fish and the spot we stopped in was just a stab and we only caught that 1. We have fished CCB in 4-5 different area's since and made 4 different trips and have only a couple of dinks to show for it.

This year has been better than last so far. Ive only gotten skunked once this year. By this time last year i was into a lot of blues and unfortunatly i have yet to lose an eel or a dozen to them.

Your not fishing MV are you? My take is bass fishing is pretty good in MA. We didn't get the big spring wave of fish where it was really hot for a week then a slow pick afterwards but there are plenty of fish around from the beach. Instead, it has been more of a steady trickle of fish this year. With new fish arriving each week. I have had a good number of fish > 20# and my largest so far was 42.5 this season. Lots of smaller fish just over the keeper marks as well to keep it interesting. We are getting fish almost every night. Somenights are better then others. Only a couple of what I would call really excellent nights but its been fine IMO. Boat guys are doing very well with loads of 30's and 40's on live scup.
If you want bass you need to fish nights. Spend time with your family during the day...there will be plenty of time for sleep when you are dead (or go back to work )

Nothing stable around the Winthrop area as well. Atleast for me. One day a 31lber the next skunk. One day a dozen 10-15 lbers the next day or night nothing. Last year, July, August and until the first nor'easter showed cows on every couple of trips. That was a good year. Hoping for the same this year. I still talk to New Jersey folk who are having their way with cows. Lets hope for the best.
This is the time for trolling eels for me. Sonic booms from this weekends fireworks curbed my enthuisiasm for night runs in the yak.
I hope next week, peace in quiet and the new moon all play into big fish.

Big, I wouldn't touch bait with a ten foot pole. It would make me AND my car smell horrendous. Chunking is not my speed, either, thank you. Although I won't be snotty about people who have a good time doing it. They can fish however they want, and I won't blame any lack of catching on my part on the fact that I choose to fish in a "more involved" manner. Don't assume that all I do is have my boyfriend bait my line and daintily toss it out into the water. Not my speed...bah.

The worst day fishing is better than the best day working. ...Wait a minute, my work IS fishing. Sweet.

Kudos to you Bassbabe on passing on rod-watching! Hope my comment did not offend you it was not meant that way. What is your preferred method of fishingBB? You may ball me BF. I did not mean to sound as though I was belittling you.

Its respectable to throw eels but when a guy dunks chunks he's goin ta hell.
A monkey can throw an eel a reel it in,,,give guy props for catchin when everyone else is pipping. People get the wrong idea about fishin ...its just bassassbackwards

i can't complain. not one bit.
although I did go on a fluke charter [bachelor party] on saturday and out of 15 people, we caught one short and a skate. Although only 8 or 9 of us were really fishing hard... the rest....
So to some up, striper fishing = good, fluking = bad.
