MikeP, I really agree. There are a few issues that I have with the Republican party but I hoped the McCain would have prevailed over Bush. Perhaps a case of the party faithful voting the party line (Bush) versus the voting the candidate. I think John McCain is far better qualified to lead this country then Bush or Gore for that matter... As far as standup guys, my first (likely) choice will not run, as you said, for what it subject his family to. I say "likely" because I would like to see a more in-depth view on certain issues but I think he has the necessary qualities to lead this country. Something we really need...
