A spade is a spade,If you want to turn a 1 ounce jig into a 3 ounce jig, just use a 3 ounce jig!

Fish-eye is getting EXTREMELY technical by adding in that boat fisherman three way jigs, yup they sure do.But it has absoulutly nothing to do with surfcasting, not even remotely so. So while he states that I "am wrong and people do use weight" on jigs.Its apples and oranges.BTW, Three waying eels blows that method away!

I would think one would need a 10 ounce jig to reach the depths combined with the currents, when boat fishing.(in some areas)
