good luck!!!!!

What is the deal with selling - any special permits required?

i would be hard pressed to keep a fish if it was worth that kinda money

Yes, you need a permit....I think in this thread MakoMike posted a link to the web site you need to go to buy a permit.....$26 I think it costs.

If you are going to sell your fish you also need a lot of safety equipment, including Cat I epirb, SOLAS liferaft and flares, survival suits, etc. All together probably cost more than you'll get for any one fish.
The website for permits is Http://www.nmfspermits.com

Might make sense to team up with a USCG certified boat with all the extras when you go out fishing.....have them sell the fish for you, and bounce back a little something to them for their troubles....MM might make a little icing on the cake this summer....

There is 1 federal permit just to legally keep a tuna you caught!!! 1 school tuna allowed per day and 1 giant (73 in. and over) per year!
Selling is a whole different story!!!
Different permit, ALL the safety gear mentioned in another reply!!!

Thanks Ron,

I knew about the pealegic (I know I probably spelled it wrong) species permit.

And I figured there was a much more paperwork to sell them.
