Sounds like Bob D'Amico sold the domain name to someone, and they may try to resurrect the website, with a new host. I think Bob lost any interest in running the site, and basically let it wind down. If I remember correctly, he went to the UBB people in November of 1998, and probably paid that bill on a yearly basis. He didn't make the renewal. Bob wasn't the only person who had a financial interest in the site, and I would guess that his other backer(s) decided not to flush any more cash down with a sinking ship.
And I agree with John on FD. IMO he sounded like he was just mailing it in over there, and the way he treated anyone with the audacity to disagree with him was despicable. Frank has always had a crude side to him. Calling Saltheart on "old scow" was just one example, he also had differences with Carl Johanssen (Angler#1 on some other boards) who is one of the finest gentlemen I've ever met. And as far as fishing knowledge, I'll match #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& against him any day of the week. Bill has had an original idea or two
in the last 20 years, and it hasn't been ten years since HIS last 40.
