6/0? if it works for you. this friday or sunday is lookign alright. the noaa keeps changing. i swore to myself that i have lost a few bigger togs. it felt like fighting a hard fighter. my abu 700cl crapped me out a little. when i turned the handle to pop the freespool button, the handle kept spooling in reverse for a few seconds or longer. i lost a bigger tog because of that. so any tech perspective here?

Yeah get a bigger reel...
4/0 Senator here...
6/0 is actually small, usually we use 7 or 8/0

I'm a Penn reel person. When it comes to bottom fishing reels (or a reel that can stand up to alot of hard fishing), I'd take a jigmaster or a beachmaster160

I just purchased a newell 338 with gear ratio of 5.1. Then I am going to load it with 40 or 50 lbs mono backing and 65 lbs spiderwire stealth.
