I have met a few guys who use wd-40 over the years. One older guy who swore by it for chunking. Supposed to cover up the human scent, ever smell a bag of storm shads? the reek like wd40. I also met a guy who sprays it on his plugs.
I have never used it so cant say for myself but people who do use it, esp chunkers, would not dream of going without it. One guy that chunks with it nailed his biggest, 53, years ago on a bunker head, with a liberal coating of wd40, he said it was one of the first times he had tried and and has been using it ever since.

Wd 40 is made w/ herring oil. Don't complain about a lack of bait if you use it alot, cause you're supporting those big boats out there taking all the bait. I know a couple guys who won't use it for anything because of that.

Last time I read the can it said something like 'petroleum distillates.'
Unless they changed the formula, WD40 is made from the same thing gasoline is, NOT FISH OILS. I don't think all that WD40 in the water can be good for the environment (though I doubt it's used enough to be a problem).
