Gibbs danny

Speaking of the breachway think I could throw a 2 1/2oz Gibbs deep diving danny??????? Well without getting them stuck on the bottom. At 16 bucks a pop i don't want to clean out my bag I tried it over in the canal my blue and white and it looks very sweet and handled the current great no fish though. There was like 50 guys with live herring not catching anything either so it wasn't the plugs fault.

Also my Gibbs darters at 2 1/4oz do not dig in I have tried everything from heavy current to no current and they won't dig at all They work more like a popper than a darter. I am very disapointed in Gibbs darters I never had this problem before.

Anthony, you should be able to get replacements from where you bought those darters. If you have any trouble , then Email Gibbs directly.

Try bending the eye up or down.Sometimes that will make them dig.

Bend the eye up to go down and bend the eye down to go up.
The Darters are hard to control for depth. The Swimmers are easy to control for depth as above,
Good Luck.

Sweet plugs Tat! I'll take some if they swim more like a beachmaster than a new Danny ... Before the fires start and a certain manufacturer e-mails me in protest. The Beachmaster, IMO, is a better swimmer than the Danny - just even more expensive

Anthony,

You could also try putting a larger hook on the front. This might help it dig better.

on my super strike darters that i use in the breachways, i put a 4/0 treble on the front, and a 7/0 siwash on the rear. it helps out alot.

With the gibbs darters they have screw eyes. If I try bending them they may loosen up the wood and connection a bit and it may not hold up to a decent fish ??????

riverdance, yeah, that's it....
the fish was just shy of 43", and bottomed out my 30 pound boga pretty quick. ya can't tell from the angle of the picture, but she was FULL of herring. one of the other pictures i have shows the belly better, but the fish looks much smaller in it.
i love the "warm-up" every spring on the river to prepare for the real fish on the coast! by the way, she swam off to grow up to trophy status!
