I have a confession.. I watch charlie moore's tv show just so i can see that awesome sluggo commercial.

Joe, i would make a huge order now for those sluggos. I have a hunch they will be in short supply come august/sept.

They were in short supply last August September also. There were about 5 weeks when I could not get any.
So, yup - I will buy lots of Sluggos in advance....
There is not much money in selling Sluggos though...
Eels are what bring the surfcasters into the store - they'll buy other stuff when they are there, but if you snip out eels - you'll have a significant population that will be drastically reducing their visits.
RI's eel ban and MA's herring ban is going to really hurt the baitshops and have a significant impact on established methods. It's a disruptive event.

Joe, is there any way yet to buy just the Slug-go's in bulk? We all toss the stupid hooks out with the packaging. It's quite the waste.

No way to get the 9" Sluggos in bulk - nothing leaves the factory except in packages of three.
No price breaks for volume on my end either - that's how the Sluggo guy makes the big bucks.
The 9" baits with the factory packaging weigh 5.1oz, of that - only 3.6oz is the bait. There should be a more enviro-friendly way to package them for mail order places. Not only is the plastic heavy and large, it makes you have to ship the Sluggos in a big envelope or box. I plan on asking them if they would go for other packaging options.

And my wife thought I was a moron for freezing 40 eels at the end of the season
