I grew up an lived in Gloucester till 1968. Fished that area many times. Some good fishing just to the south of there along the shore between White Beach, Black Beach, Graves Beach and Singing Beach in Manchester. Unfortunately, much of that shoreline is privately owned and the owners are not fond of fishermen or others using their rocks. However, persistance and making friends in that area can pay off handsomly.

i lived in gloucester from 79 to 97 (im only 26 ) but seem to slowly be making my way back there.

Funny you should say that.. There is a mansion in between white and black beach on little peninsula and whenever my gf and i go for a walk we always say we should bring them some cookies. I guess im closer to the white beach side... is that off limits for fishing? I have not seen any signs...

As long as your standing below the high mean line they don't have rights to that, anything above that is off limits unless the land owner doesn't mind. http://www.ago.state.ma.us/sp.cfm?pageid=1681

That's pretty tough to do through that section, Bob cause there are places (sheer cliffs) you just cannot traverse without being well above high water and on private land.
