Quickly dispose of the carcasses before the youngsters get home. The best thing you can do is make sure the coast is clear before checking them each day. Also, don't let the kids know where the traps are located if possible.

Happy hunting. VB is correct, there are more.

I've had excellent results in keeping mice out with electronic ultrasound plugin units like those by Witech. There are many different brands out there.Sometimes you can find super deals on them at Joblot or Benny's.

The Pest Offense unit works great in rooms where all the wiring is on the same circuit.Check it out at www.pestoffense.com.If you need a few units it can get kinda pricey though.

peanut butter sucks

as bait because they can just lick it off... usually

i found a thin slice of swiss cheese works as good

and its hard enough to "clamp it" in the bait holder
or push it up from the underside...

a five gallon bucket 1/3 full of water makes a great
trap >>> just float a large jar lid with seed in it...

they'll drown trying to get to it...make a ramp to
the buckets edge...a half broken (bent) flat stick that
hangs over
a pinch works well...

mice have real sharp pin like claws and can litterally
just run up the side of a house or a trimboard
..so you have to watch for access holes and fill
them with copper mesh first then whatever
...patching material you use.

if you suspect an area that has a floor , you can sprinkle white flour
or powdered sheet rock spackle...and look later for tracks... an old 4' piece of 2 or 3 inch pvc laid against a wall with one end plugged except for a 1/4 inch hole for light to enter to fool-em ....
is a great way to catch them ....after being chased inside then plug the other end (for removal) with a rag...

peanuts in the shell make great "listen for them bait" ...because to get that peanut they have to crunch crunch crunch throught the shell first and its very easy to hear.

also make sure to eliminate any and all food sources....and even a pile of laundry is a favorite hiding place underneath.

look for card board boxes that have chew holes in them...

dont use the mouse baits because they'll die inside your wall

those sticky traps work ok but they sometimes pull free.

i buy traps ten at a time and pre-drill and screw them down to
a piece of plywood to put inside a cardboard box and set them all.

I use peanut butter and an M&M. Just peanut butter they sometimes get away but with the M&M on top they are toast. Me and the cats kill at least 5 to 10 every winter, especially after the first cold snap. This late in the season usually not a problem. P.
