If you are not the tinkering type or do not have a ton of money owning a boat might not be for you, But, if you' re willing to do basic upkeep, maintanance can be kept at a minimum. One you start boat fiishing you can't stop, it is an addiction, and to me it is more peacefull, especially since all my shore spots are over crowded.

That's why we have 6 months of winter! Except for Clammer
Otherwise, we'd fish year round.

That's the nice thing about having a smaller boat. Less maintenance.
The boat is in the garage, so no storage costs. Service the engine each year. Wash it off when I come back in. Run freshwater thru the engine.
No anti-fouling paint needed. Low exposure to salt vs. mooring or slip.
Trailer lights and trolling motor plug are my only consistent troubles. That is pretty minor.
There are definitely times I'd like a bigger boat, but not at maintenance time.

I pulled it out again today.........Its to windy and the poor boat doesnt like it. Took it home and washed and waxed it again this morning, I did find a piece of eel grass on the hull and was very upset. I will put her back in on thursday and then pull it out again for waxing on sunday..............
I acually ENJOY cleaning it
Mike is the opisite he has not yanked his boat out in 3 %$%$%$%$IN YEARS...Good thing every barnicle in the bay is attached to his hull...Less for me to worry about
