I used to catch alot of Sturgeon in SF Bay when I was a youngster. We regularly kept fish from 8-10 feet long. It's good to see that California came up with a slot for these fish. You can only keep fish between 41" and 6 ft. These fish have made a good comeback on the Snake and Columbia Rivers also, but the Fraser River will always be the best.

If you can find it check out the link video of the California Sea Lions killing & eating very large sturgeon in those Rivers I believe.

I'm glad they didn't see the need to kill an old fish like that like those guys killed that giant hammerhead in Florida.
