I've seen legit 4 foot wind chop with almost no space between the waves in the Bay before. Small boats don't like it very much....
That was yesterday and we were in it for 5 hours.......the waves in the bay are worse because they are so close together and come from every angle under the sun
The most confused seas I've ever seen in the Bay were right where you were.
Pictures never do it justice, but I have a good mental picture of what you went through yesterday. I did it in a 17 foot skiff once. I think I nearly ripped the steering wheel out of the center console a few times trying to hang on.
