I thought it was pretty good - especially as an inaugural event.
I would drop the noise level a bit by the Lederhosen band and have then sing Ein Prosit auf Deutsch(not that I remember the words). And yes, seating should have been made available, especially for those that needed it. I slipped and cracked my bad knee just before leaving home and it was painful standing all day (and locking up on the way home). A true German beer fest has rows upon rows of tables lined up as there is plenty of drinking and sitting
. The other "Fest" items missing were the St Pauli Girls with the 5-7 1 liter ceramic mugs and the ladies with the schnapps tray - but I digress
Yes, make the stage available for presenting the awards - was difficult even 50 feet back to get any kind of view.
Kudos to the OTW / Harpoon staff for a good event. And thanks for the HeffeWeizen
