Went back in the afternon and 2nd cast got two big hits, I let the plug sit for a couple of seconds and then 10' in front of me the monster showed it's face and took the plug and screamed away. I finally had my hook in a corker. It made a long run towards the shore down the distance of the rock and I thought it was going to rub off. After a few glorious minutes of carefully getting him back I had him on the kelp on a ledge 5' away from me. Only his tail was in the water. The fish was in the mid 30's easily(inches). I was afraid the waves would take him away but I couldn't pull him any further on the rock without breaking my line. I was so pumped but I had to get down there ASAP. As I made my way down I slipped, the line went loose for a second and he sensed that and flopped his head, shook the plug and slid back in!!!!!!!!!! Any advice on landing fish from a rock?

How about a net? Also whenever I fish a rocky area I always try to find a place that if I got a nice fish I could go down to get it without getting hurt. Always think where will I land a fish before you start fishing. There is always option C jump in!

Not sure a net would have worked. I was postioned in what I thought was a good potential landing spot. It was dead low so everything was exposed and slippery. I haven't reached the frustration point of jumping in, but I'm getting close.
