Mike - if you are going to encapsulate the whole piece with cloth & resin and the ply is securely attached to the frame and coated, it will be strong as using pine for a brace. I am assuming that you are going to completely cover all your wood with glass on both sides. The cloth will add strength to the understructure.
The sketches you provided are great. What drawing or CAD system are you using?

I was going to offer my design services but you're more talented than I
I see you already found out about PT not good with resins... Don't know much about that but the CS guys are pretty confident that it won't work

You could laminate 3 pieces of 1/2" ply or 2 3/4's to get that 1 1/2. If on a budget you really don't need to get the more expensive marine or okume pylwood for that purpose. AC plywood will work just fine for that particular application.
When it comes to doing the cockpit floor which will be glassed over, many of the guys I know use MDO.
For more "important" and structural parts of the boat use the good stuff.

yeah i'll take it. i have to go pick up the bench seat in cohaset possibly friday i could swing bye then.
i've since laminated two pieces of plywood together to replace the presure treated. huge difference in strength with the plywood, plus it really soaks up the resin.
