I second the vise grip pliers rig. I made one and it is necessary for saltwater big hooks or tieing 3 to 5 ounce canal jigs. It holds the hook without slippage and allows you to really tir tight without the jig twisting. Have a 3/8" rod welded to the pliers and it will fit your existing clamp setup.
