its going to mount a radio and a humminbird 787c2 fishfinder/gps
you think 1/4 inch will be not enough?

Maybe, but keep in mind, startboard will expand and cortract (warp) with temp changes
|

I mounted my 10" screen in 3/8" starboard. If I was going to do it again I'd use black Plexiglass (or Lucite, Acrylite, etc.) You could also use a PVC board such as Koma or Azek available at your local lumber yard. I have a ton of scraps but only up to 1x10

I second the Black Plexiglass or Lexan from J. Freeman in Boston (Dorchester)

It looks better. I thing you can buy small sheets of it at Lowes in 1/4".
