Where's the Leader?
How do you package leaders for your bag? I use ziploc bags but wonder if there's a better way.

M&Ds has small ziplocks in various sizes, example: 2"x3" or 2"x4", their compact and fit almost anywhere,, writing on them is easier & neater and more organized. I tie mine as needed but alot of surf conditions its better to pre tie.

One of the Narragansett sharpies showed me this the other night. He uses aluminum foil. Just take your leader wrap around your hand, slip it off and wrap in a piece of aluminum foil. Don't have to loop it, twist it, you can stick a half a dozen leaders, each in individual pieces of foil, in your bag, waders, whatever.
I tried it and it's a great way to carry leaders.

All good ideas. I use the leader wallet.
Where can one get the heavy PCV sealable bags. I figure I'd stack about ten on top of one another then sew the bottom of the bags together.

I pre-tie my leaders with a snap on one end and a swivel on the other. I then connect several of them together snap to swivel and wrap them on an old spool of leader material. Then put a rubber band around the spool. They are very easy to get at this way. Kinda like a leader dispenser.
I have a couple of old Seagar spools and they have a plastic covering that works great as well but these are a little more bulky.

Yeh, exactly but you don't need to be especially elegant about making a pocked. Just fold the foil in half and fold over the edges. Nothing tangles, no twisty ties to mess with. After all these years in the surf this guy showed me something that was so simple, stupid, I felt like an idiot that I hadn't thought of it.

tattobob, those inserts only fit that wallet.
I like to find heavy zip-lock of (width) 4" x 4"(depth) for this leader wallet. The depth can be slightly larger.

Used 2 x 6 ziplocks in the surf bag. Kept three in each bag. Kind of a pain to open the bag, take out of the zip lock, make sure you don't drop it, put leader in mouth, put away zip lock, close surf bag. All while balancing pole and and making sure I have the tag end ready.
Gonna try them loose this season in the new small skinz pouch. There is a nice section right under the buckle flap. Wrap them around three fingers, and loop the end once or twice. It will keep a half dozen nicely spaced out. I also hear of people keeping them loose in surf top pockets - less steps.

Same method as with the tinfoil idea above- I package them up in saran wrap and label them. Handy way to keep them easy to get to but out of the way. I keep finding them all over the place, but that is ok- they go right back into circulation. Useful.
