Plug Swap.....Anyone interested?

Slip and I are thinking about a plug swap for those of use who turn wood, and are just getting started.

Here's how it works...

X number of people sign up by a certain deadline.
You make X number of plugs equal to the number of people who signed up.
You send the plugs , when finished to Myslef or Slip who collects all the plugs and distributes them back to the people who signed up.

I've participated in the past and they are alot of fun. And yes all the plugs you have to make need to be the same.

The first plug swap won't start until RI pukes....as BM would say.

Who's interested?

Oh yeah, Slip....you think we should have a plug swap?

10X10....PLEASE sign up whe nthis gets going I NEED your swimmers!

Lets say you don't make any plugs yet. Could you say get like some Mambo Minnows or some other good commercially made plugs and exchange them instead. I don't think too many of us are actually making them yet. I would love some of the stuff you guys make. I am hoping to get a lathe for xmas, then I will start turning wood.

Sure count me in.I would suggest you put a limit on the amount of participtants though, making 30 or 40 plugs is a nightmare.Last one I was in (so were you)was 15 guys I think.New plastic for wood?I'll take a Magnum Chicken scratch bomber please.
I already got your swimmers bodies done,Tattoo. What colors you want?
I got a bunch of lips comin.Soon as they show up I'll have'em done. You gotta see that Esther Williams plug swim.Ooooooooooh.Aaaaaahhh.Hope I can get them to swim like that consistently.Problem with swimmers is they don't cast real far.If you weight them too much than they don't swim right.Have to think about this.Hmmmmmmm.

I'll get in on this but seeing my only custom jobs are fishing rods - we ain't exactly doing that ...

Any suggestions for suitable FISHING RELATED swap material?

Slip survived the seal adventure! I had to wake him up at the funnel later and he mumbled something about needing sleep. I'd be interested in this but don't make any plugs myself. I may have some sinkers, raw lead, and some cedar blocks to trade and was wondering if cedar is good for plugs?

Hello,

So this is where you boys are hanging out. Nice to see a post with the 10 X 10 handle. I won't be building any plugs soon, but I'll be video taping a wide range of them underwater. Tattoo will tell you what a pearl bomber looks like under the suds.

I'll be dropping in on this site as time allows.

Hope to see some of you boys at the shoreline.

It's far from over yet...lots of cows to catch.

Mike
