My first rod was a hand me down from my father. It was about 5 feet long. It had a conventional reel.
My first factory rod was a Garcia Mitchel 2508b with a mitchell 301 spinner. That was my first rod , not a handmedown. It was ans still is a first class set up for fishing for freshwater bass., perch , etc
My first custom was a Lami graphite rod built by Dave at Murats. It was 11.5 feet long and I fished it for many years. Still have it but seldom use it anymore.
