Ooops! I should have checked again before I posted.
NJ Tackle has them in now so I just ordered some up. I'll post a picture of the little critters when I get them done. Thanks!

If the surfster lip does not do what you want, try as JPI suggested, use a colorado blade. Get one about as wide as the plug for a good fit. Will work on top well.

I have made several 3.5 - 4" surfsters modeled after the original ccbc 7200 series and they work well. Troublemaker lures also used to make a small one that worked well. I don't remember the exact length of the original ccbc but it was around 4". The lips that NJT has will work on that size plug.

aluminum angle

You might try aluminum angle for some lips. The 1" wide stuff is fairly thin, very easy to cut with snips and/or lightweight saw and sands/files very easily. And it's still quite stiff...
