Question More & More Plug Hooks coming with Tubing

Right out of the package, more and more plugs are coming with tubing on the hooks for safety and protection. When do you remove the tubing and do you reuse it?

I take mine off right out of the package, I don't want to forget in the dark and miss a fish because I forgot to remove it

Right away for me, as well.
Even grizzlied old salt Naked #^&#^&#^&#^&y was out one day wondering why all his hookups were short hits (they never had tubing back when DadBomba was a kid).
OOPS!

PS-First time out in my first boat I launched with no drain plug in, so I'm not really one to talk.

Taking them off is a pain in the arse. I think Afterhours figured something out because the ones on his plugs slip right off. I've had others that I have to cut off or like others said end up sticking myself in the process of removing them.

I keep'em on indefinitely.....helps keeps the hooks sharper longer.

Thats why I only buy his plugs. Nearly killed myself trying to clear a storm shad hook. Its a fishing plug, of course there is a hook on it. Damm lawyers
