The Lowes version and the Home Depot version were close to identical, however the Lowes had the Briggs & Stratton engine. Consumer reports had them both as the "Best Buy"

Holds a bit of gas and runs for about 8 hours at my load. Got the gas stored in the shed for the mower/snowblower so I'm set. 'Bout 10 gallons reserve and 5 in it.

Hey...BTW....works GREAT for hedge trimming. No running the extension cord from inside the house

Great for camping too....if the neighbors don't mind noise
Mine is basically the same thing, it worked awesome and ran a good 10 hours on about 4 gallons of gas, not to bad considering I was keeping two refridgerators going...Going to set it up like you did and tie it right into the fuse panel, candels are nice but losing a couple hundred dollars worth of groceries is no fun, anyway, very happy with the way it worked . Mine has a subaru motor and while you can certainly hear it, its not so loud that its unbearable..So now its put away till the next storm...I cant wait........
