I'm back in a car this year, 16 mpg in a truck just gets old when the fishing is good and I'm going every day. Roof rack is on and I'm ready to go.

Obviously a truck or SUV is the ideal fishing vehicle (or necessary, if you like the sand), but I'll still be fishing and traveling to where the fish are when I otherwise would have been looking at a gas pump in fear.

I'll be fishing as hard this year as I did last year, and keeping more money in my pocket. Hopefully Newport will produce better all season long and I won't have to travel as much this year.

Pete u told me u get a Vertigo type symptoms when u leave the Island..

I would be really happy to get 16 mpg..
I start to save my pennies now For the trips I hope to make this yr.Gas is by far my biggest expense.I already shower in a sink at the DD.Not sure I could do much more to cut back..Maybe if I make a dozen or so Peanut butter sangwiches I can save a few duckets that way.I will have to choose/pick my times more carefully.
Also I plan on quitting that $12 per day habit..Thats will be a big help..

high gas prices effects everything

food especially....used to be, you could go spend 20 bucks and have food for three days.... now its down to one.

fishing....

It takes careful planning ..so there are NO wasted trips.

60 miles from the water sucks...
