Sometimes the pogies are a bit below the surface, so you see a darker patch of water. I have found that the schools create "queer" looking water with surface ripples marking the underlying fish. They move right along, so cast the weighted treble across the leading edge of the school. It is all or nothing with these bunker, you really need to get the treble hooks into the mass of the school to have luck snagging. If you are in a boat, go upwind and drift thru them with the engine off. Blast and dash just gets the schools all spooky and then they go down. If you have a livewell, or an aerated bucket, they will live for a long while. Bass candy. Yum.
