What really absolutely amazes me is 2 fish that size in the same week.

I have over 40 years chasing Bass and I cannot recall anyone, boat or surf, getting a 50 and a 60 in the same week.

Bank in the early 70's (the good old days, ha, ha) when there were a lot of big fish, I don't remember this happening. 2, 50s YES! Back to back 40 and 50 YES! A 50 and a 60, back to back, not that I can remember.
When you consider all the factors that have to be included and how everything has to go exactly right, it's a mind blower.

The one downside, which I have spoken to Bill about, at length, is,

Where do you go from here? How do you top this? Do you loose the "fire in the belly, the eye of the tiger"?

I once knew a guy on the Block back in the early 80s that got a 64 at the Poop Shute one night. He hung up his rods and never fished again. Said "I'll just never top this".

Double edged sword, perhaps?

No boat, back in the suds.

Paul,

Like we were discussing the other day, a fish like this was likely to be caught by one of you guys. With the fish carrying good weight, it wouldn't surprise me to see more of them in this class taken, hopefully by you guys. Either way, 60# is a lifetime fish, you just don't see many of them, regardless of what year it is. Last year there were none documented on the entire striper coast that I know of. Keep taking advantage of them while they're around.

Awesome fish, Bill.

You are right Mike. There are an awful lot of large around. I have never seen it this good. A morning with 4 fish in the mid to high 20's is just and "average" morning lately. A 30 just about raises and eyebrow. Just amazing.

I wonder about the long term effect on the population with this many large being caught. Most are bing released but I believe there is still a statistical mortality that has to be taken into account. We will find out soon enough.
Where's that Baby????

No boat, back in the suds.

Unbelievable! Outstanding! A testament to a very talented fisherman that puts in the time and learns quickly.

But... you might want to buy a few lottery ticket this week too...

Congrats

Best regards,
Roger

Congrats Bill (#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&)!

time in, be it boat or surf pays off. and good friends, with good intel, like you mentioned, always is a plus.

Paul.. it has been done, and then capped, either later the same week, or perhaps a week later with one over 70.. in the early eighties, on the cape, from shore.. T.S. junior..

meybe Bill will cap his week with a 70

Once again awesome fish #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&. I think "Iron Mike" had a nice run (don't think they were caught in the same week) of a 50 and 60 a couple years back from the surf.....
