I second that. With all the bait in the Bay right now, it has no choice but to be an awesome fall run.

Its already begun in some places. Last week in September/first week in October is usually best for me. August has been pretty strong this year too, unlike last year. Presence of bait is a secondary indicator to me as I've seen real good and real bad regardless of the bait present.

Up and running here on the North Shore. Working birds and busting bait have been seen every day this week. Local harbor chock-o-block full of bait.
Temps in the upper 40's at night have caused it to kick off early IMHO...

I'll take a wait and see attitude because its not good to get your hopes up and get let down. Many a year the bait moved way out of reach and all you could do is watch the carnage and hope that the wind would blow the bait closer.

Like every year, it will be good for some, not good for others. Just gotta get out there and try to be one of the ones who has a good one. If we get mackeral or small blues near shore up here, I have a good feeling. If the mackeral come too late and its just peanuts, probably not so great (size wise). I'll just keep going with my usual nighttime routine and try not to get hung up on chasing schoolies, well maybe alittle bit at dawn and dusk.

every spring i see all you guys talking about how its picking up but us guys up north still have to wait 2- 3 weeks, only because the majority of the posters are from ri and cape cod.. BUT the fall run, it's reversed... so i hope to post many big fish in the next couple weeks
