Anybody see tyhe seal pics in the Globe

Last sunday thier was an article in the globe about different guided trips available on Cape Cod and one of them involved taking a boat out to "the sandbar" in Chatham to gawk at all the seals at low tide. That is blastphemous someone actually making money watching our arch enemy laze around. I wonder if the same people will come to watch the hunt?

If they ever try and control the seal population those that now give tours will scream. It's not a good thing that people now make a living because of them.

Also heard that some authorities found a seal that was shot recently. Not sure if it was on the cape or the islands. Heard it on WMVY radio. The DJ remarked "Who would shoot a seal? If she only knew how many people hate seals.

The only reason to watch seals is to see if a GW comes up and chomps one. I have seen enough seals to know that they don't do anything exciting. They either sit in the water with their head sticking up or they sit on the beach doing nothing. I cant believe people will pay for this. I'm thinking of starting squirrel tours. I can take people out on my property and point out squirrels climbing trees and running around. Only $25 bucks per person for 30 minutes of squirrel watching.

I think for $25 you better give them an hour.

I don't like working too hard. Half an hour is about all the effort I care to put in. Besides, If they will pay to look at seals, they are stupid enough to pay $25 for 30 minutes.

Not to steal this thread, but - a couple of guys were fishing off PI at Newburyport and when getting a good size fish up to gaff, a seal chomped down and took off with the fish and the rod and reel. They are invading the north now!

You could fleece them for a $5.00 zip-lock back of peanuts to feed them as well.
