Eben, hate to say it but it could be either a Pt. Jude or an Emmerson & Ruhren.... I don't remember if anyone I know has one in the correct box, I'll have to ask around.....we need to find a few in boxes I guess to be certain.....
The Facts:

1] the wire in the front is tied just like a Pt. Jude, not a Ruhren

2] the flaptail is attached like some Pt. Jude baits

3] the body looks like a Ruhren

4] the paint job looks like Pt. Jude [ later model colors ], or Emmerson & Ruhren, or even SO-CO...... they all had very similar paint jobs.

Well, whatever that bait is........ it sure is nice........ the other Calitri bait and box are correct.......Good Luck & Thanks For Showing Them

Wow! Nice stuff Eben!
The Point Jude does look a lot more like an Emmerson to me. The yellow eyes, body shape and paint lead me to believe that. All of the PJ Surf Slappers I've seen have had a "cut head", like the CCBCo Pikies.
Does the PJ box have any stamp or label on the end?
That Calitri plug is very rare. Is the flaptail on that plug made from lead or stamped metal?

Great find nebe ,

I found these a few weeks ago ... in a lot that has a number of early Pt Jude's in it (and others including some experimental / test plugs) Lot was found in "gannsett" ... same vintage as yours .
Unfortunitly these were both in the same box but ....
hardware is exactly the same on both my plugs ..It (roundnose )looks very much like yours. Sorry for poor photos .. I will provide better ones if needed.
