I have been doing this thing where I use a 20 ft section of 30 lb fireline connected to the main line of 20 lb fireline.The 20 lets me cast farther and get down better.The 30 gives me more peace of mind around the rocks..
it's been holding up fine so far.I put some good pressure on it also..

I've been toying w/the idea of doing that...
