Maybe it's that some of us surf-guys who can easily afford a boat simply don't have the time to use it enough like you seem to do because:
unfortunately we have to work at our jobs all of our weekdays and,
fortunately we much prefer spending the other daylight hours during the week and on weekends enjoying time with our families - making nighttime surf-fishing about the only option. And maybe we truly enjoy it.
