Over The River And Through The Woods......

So where is everyone going for Thanksgiving Day? Parents, friends, staying home? Got any Thanksgiving traditions in your family? What does Thanksgiving look like for you folks?

I will be staying home for the second year in a row! Had a great Thanksgiving last year by just staying in my own home with Angie and my 2 sons, her brother came to dinner. We cooked a big ole' turkey and had a nice day! I got tired of picking my sons up (divorced) and spending the holiday in the car, driving to my Moms and dealing with the family BS and the cigarette smoke from those in my family that smoke! This year its just Angie, her brother and his 2 daughters and myself....oh...and a 24 pound bird I have named...."Tastey"! Mashed potatoes, stuffing, peas, boiled onions, cranberry sauce, carrots! Turkey dinner is my favorite! Oh! I forgot the homemade gravy...lots of gravy!

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Home with the wife, 2 daughters, and mother in law. Nice and simple. Too much to travel especially when I'm working on Friday. Menu includes: Shrimp cocktail, Antipasta, turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, lasagna, and some pie for dessert (like I'll need it). Wash it all down with a nice California Cab (Caymus). Happy Thanksgiving to all....

It is the final leg of our week and a half Thanksgiving Triumvarate.
We have our Thanksgiving, which was on the 11th, then Naked Thanksgiving with Rappin Mikey and Naked #^&#^&#^&#^&y, which was Sunday, then round it out with Jewish Thanksgiving on Thursday.
It's not really super Jewish, but there's some kugel and 10 layer jello mold thrown in for good measure..I don't really argue too much...I just carve the Turkey and I get out of any other chores!
I think I'm gonna need some bigger pants!
Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!
Love,
Rick

Im doing the turkey.
Wife does taters, candied sweet taters, gravy, rolles, and pies, apple, peach, pumpkin, blackberry, and my favorite rubarb. blackberrys half gone already.
Daughter helps her mother, very cool to watch them.
Father and mother inlaw will be here, she does the best stuffing, has oysters in it.
Youngest son still lives at home so he rounds out the feast

Thankgiving at the In-Laws house this year...Nothing says "Happy Thankgiving" like family in-fighting.

I'll just drink heavily and lose myself in the football games for the day

Got kids and grandkid home. Going to sister-in-law's for dinner. About 30 peeps. Should be fun.

Glad I don't drink anymore. I can watch all the fights and not get involved.

No boat, back in the suds.

Wow... That's harsh, and I don't drink! We're going to brother's here in town, there's seven of them plus two nieces, one of my twins (other going with ex to see a cousin he doesn't get to see often), Mom, sister and brother in law.

Gonna give the Castle a last couple casts early AM, go to HS game, then figure out how I can see as much of the three TV football games as I can.

To those driving, take care and keep your head!

Two hour trip to NH.Eat,get aggravated, drink, get some more aggravation then two hours home all bloated and starting to dry out from alcohol. Not my idea of fun.If I'm lucky like usual right about the time I start to get real loud and drunk wife decides maybe we should get going. The earlier I toss a few back I think the better chance I will get to have a nice quiet night at home.

Ah yes, I remember those Holidays well...

One Christmas there were so many fist fights we had to call the cops. Wife comes from a very large Irish catholic family, me from a large italian catholic family. Looking back it was all fun...

Mom's house and family in Western Mass, a bottle of Crown Royal, football, and deep frying a turkey as always. Of course, the Crown comes after the frying.

Travelling from Saugus to Kingston, NH to the sis-in-law's

We are cooking and stuffing with her grandma's recipe and toting the Turkey, they'll have all the fixins:

green bean casserole, tossed salad, orange/cranberry relish, mashers, sweet potaters, rolls, boats of giblet gravy, two pies (punkin & apple), and me bride's Italian cookies~~MMMMMMMMM................GOOD!

My favorite food part of Turkey Day is the leftovers. After I carve, I'll reserve the carcass and bones for my turkey vegetable soup ~ I throw everything in there ~pasta, parm, escarole, the whole crisper of veggies. But the creme de la creme is the turkey sammies. Yer bread of choice, then ~~~~piles of turkey, mayo, stuffing, o/cran relish, aged swiss, more mayo, cracked blk pepper, fresh bacon ~optional!!

then it's down to SOCO ~Fri pm to Sun afternoon~ for one last shot at the BIG GURLS. We have me mum's house in NPT all to ourselves as she went to PA to be wit my brother and his family. Sister's in Lauderdale for the winter.

Safe travels to ALL, and Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Thanks be to God for our health, our wealth of His Provision, and our happiness that is fishing, breathing, and living along His Striper Coast. Blessed be the Name of the Lord!!!
