awesome mac. i like the one without scales better. no scales. let me know when they are up for sale. i'd buy 3 or 4 of them. great gift idea as well.

As you probably assumed (why else for the post ) the scale pattern is a bit heavy and busy IMHO.

I'd shoot for something inbetween. Instead of individual scales perhaps use some "scale like" marks to add character or motion. Take a look at fish pictures to see what features you may want to incorporate as accents so they add interest but don't dominate.

Still great stuff though
