That "flower" is actualy a "Barney" cast net simulation device. The rings simulate the line which one holds during the cast. I'm teaching him the basics of fishing and the environment that we live in. His first milestone was to be able to soil a diaper much in the same manner a duck makes a pier slick. That was achieved without any assistance from my wife or me. His next step was a fluid casting motion with his right arm. As a result of this casting motion, my wife's glasses get knocked off on occasion.
His next lesson will be to crawl into a fishing spot commando style as not to be seen. He is now starting to show signs of the "crawl" but I'm having difficulty finding baby jumpers in cammo battle dress uniform...

Of' course, Uncle #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& has already said that he'll show Liam all of his secrets instead of the few he has given me :P
