Just got back from fishing in Florida, I check in a 50 qt cooler loaded with my tackle bags, fillet knives,reels. All they ever ask is you declare it not food. I duct tape the top closed and in over 10 trips its never been opened.For rods i carry 4 2-piece rods (6'-7'6'') in a $17 pvc guncase i found at walmart. this also is checked in. Clothes are in a carryon bag ( shorts,tshirts, couple of dress shirts).Never had any problems and the cooler comes in real hand.
