I'm Over It! You Over It?

I am over it! Its not like the Pats lost because we fumbled on the goal line in the last minute of the game.......we got outright beat! I hear these folks whining on the radio with alot of "ifs" and "how comes"......everyones looking for a scape goat and there really is none to be found! We lost! The best team won! Hard as that is to accept.....its true.

Now its time to think about fishing!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

A game like this comes around very rarely it was played hard by both teams no excuses for winning or losing Pats can hold their heads up high. You win as a team and losse as a team so no scapegoats and ifs will win you lotto.

Me too Larry, already gone........

They got beat, they didn't loose huge lead. Few errors hear and there and the D line of NY outplayed NE O line. Done.

3 Super Bowls in seven seasons, a perfect regular season and numerous offensive NFL records...

And people are astounded that the Pats couldn't do what has never been done, against a team they barely beat just a month prior?

Don't let the media frenzy get you down. Just because the better team won yesterday doesn't not make the Pats one of the best teams ever.

the only thing i dont agree with is "the best team won"

the best team over all did not win.

Though the giants played a great game and they kept brady from doing his thing, the are definitely not the best team as a whole. They were the best team on Sunday though.

I dont understand it though... I BEAT them 45 to 3 in madden 08

To be the best team ever or to have the best season ever you need to win the ring. That is the single most important thing.

The way I look at it--on any given Sunday, they're 3 points apart, either way. Head to head matchups are the ones that tell.

I guess I am .Only thing that sticks in my craw is Asante should have got to training camp and practiced his ball catching skills and it might have been a different story. Oh well better to have played and lost then to be a spectator. GIANTS are the champs. Nope not over it yet. Darn

No I am not over it and it will take a while longer for me to get over it. I accept it but I am not over it. the better team won and they deserve it, I am happy for coach Coughlin and his team. Devastated, crushed and bummed that my team missed an opportunity at history by just one play here or a few inches there It hurts and it's not going away soon.

They have gone one step further each year since their last superbowl win, hopefully next year will get them all the way to a win and their 4th Lombardi trophy.

VERRRY TRUE!!

Did anyone, throughout the entire season EVER consider the '07-'08 Giants GOAT of anything besides their own futility? Their post season performance is prolly one for the record books, but they will not even be able to hold Brady's jockstrap next year!!

They'll still hold the one Lombardi trophy that meant the most to you.

No -

Not over it. I don't even think I can explain how I feel, ......it's like getting home and finding out your house was robbed, not just the stuff inside, but the whole damm house!!!

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, (in my mind at least) the New England Patriots are the Best Team in the 2007 season, the only way this could have happened was if the Giants were taping some of the previous games and cheated.

I actually felt sick afterwards, sick, speechless, stupid - - - woke up this morning and the 2nd thought that crossed my mind was "they Lost".

...it finally happened, there are no more secret spots

Shoulda, woulda, coulda! You want to pick one play that made the difference in the game it was Harrison and how he had Manning collared on 3rd and 5 on that last march and Manning slipped out and made that amazing pass/catch for the first down and followed it up with the game winning TD! Harrison grounds Manning on that play and the game ends the other way!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Mike P, please see the other threads where I give props, well deserved, to your NYG!

As far as one having greater meaning than any other one, i think that the PATS, to a man, would say that they all carry the same significance ~WORLD CHAMPION. Once you get into the rarified air of multiple Lombardi's by essentially the same core group of individuals, i think that the winning of them is what counts and not so much whether or not a perfect season preceeds the ultimate goal, or not.

How many times did they say "It is/was not our goal to go 19-0" ? To them and me, the perfection thang is more important to the media and the story writers than the achieving of each season's Primary Path, the Path to the Lombardi. I still maintain that this season, as it stands, is one for the record books and one for History. They shattered records, they continued their legacy, and they have much more to accomplish, in the years and games in front of them.

Cain't help it if the truth hurts!
Did ya see the part, above, where I agreed
that the best team WON on Sunday?

That performance, for BOTH teams, does not change the Truth about each team's regular season, post season, or the perceptions of them at those times. Most people picked the NYG to go 5-11 after their abyssmal start, right? Coughlin's and Eli's jobs were questioned more than once during their '07 campaign. The Pats, rightly so, were considered by 95% of the experts to be the GOAT in the QB, HC, and TEAM Departments. This concept of their Greatness did not happen overnight, nor can it disappear that way! Stay tuned, PATS fans for additional Days of Greatness are on the horizon.

So, because of Sunday's result do the team's all of sudden do some sort of flip-flop down is up/up is down sort of one game a franchise makes or breaks each of them? I doan think so! The Pats WILL continue to be dominant, providing we maintain our core of veteran players and leaders. Does this one HURT, Hell Ya! Gonna be a while before I'm over it, lads!! I have moved from denial into pain, though, so there is hope !

CONGRATULATIONS to the Giants for finishing the deal and pulling off one of the greatest upsets of all time. Also, they played their tails off and kicked NE's tails the whole game ~from coaching, to execution, to confidence, and to the final deserved result. WAY TO GO, GEEE-MEN!

What's next, a Manning vs Manning SB?
OHHHH Gawd! I think i just puked in my mouth,
DISGUSTING !!!

Look at the context, The Dad!
Obviously, we are talking about winning it all!

YOU don't honestly think that these Pats are done, do you?
I see at least one, possibly, two more to win !

Yup--they all mean the same. Naw, no one cares that this one would have put the icing on the biggest cake ever cooked.

That's why your coach has been in hiding since he left the field with a second left on the clock. Apparently shoved a couple of local reporters out of his way when the team bus got back to the Razor yesterday. That's local reporters, the "In Bill We Trust" guys. At least the players got out and mingled with the fans.

That's why you're two biggest offensive stars bailed on the Pro Bowl. Funny thing--Brady was sacked 5 times and put on his arse at least another dozen times, and I never saw a trace of a limp when he got to his feet. The guy was a warrior. They don't allow blitzing in the Pro Bowl and the defensive linemen kind of let up. Randy has a bad ankle too? Man, he looked pretty good when he made that cut to the outside in the end zone that made Corey Webster fall flat on his face.

All of them are alike? If I told you that you could swap the one against the Panthers for the one you lost Sunday, are you going to tell me you wouldn't take that deal in a heartbeat?

Superbowl wins fade over time, but superbowl collapses last forever.

Who lost superbowl 3?

Who lost the superbowl after going 18-0?

These are the things that sports fans for years will remember and kids will learn as they grow into sports fans.

Same as who lost a 3-0 series lead in baseball.

Many pats fans are in denial, but that is the bottom line, and the unfortunate truth. When you talk about BB, he will be in the greatest coach discussion but people will talk about this game, his arrogance and many other factors now. When you don't win the games your suppose to especially when you are a dynsaty and your in the superbowl, its not good. This loss will go a long way, Brady wins this game, you think he is not listed as the greatest quarterback ever, he losses and he somehow is diminished slightly on the list.

I know you guys don't like it but those are the rules
