I had just moved back in with my folks in Scituate Mass, after some traveling. Bad timing, man didn't we get it, both in terms of snow and coastal devistation. Our street didn't get plowed for a week and I remember we'd hike to the harbor and coastal areas after it was over, just to snap some photos and basically look in disbelieve what mother nature had done. Something about walking by a 40 foot fishing boat on it's side on main street or looking at houses sitting on top of cars, to make you thank your lucky stars your parents didn't by coastal property.

The other thing that drove me nuts was I was a ski freak and this was after about a 4 year stretch of teaching skiing out at Bershire East in western mass, looking at snow we'd have died for and I couldn't even get out of my own driveway. I remember even trying to sneak out to get to western mass after they finally had started to move some snow around, but before they lifted the driving ban. After being stopped by serveral cops working my way out Rt123 trying to work the secondary roads around, I figured I'd best get back home. Finally get to western mass and yup nada, they got nothing and the conditions were hard and icy.

They had a report on today about someone who put out a book on the storm and I recognized countless pictures, because I took the same shots. It was kinda cool for a while, an adventure in cooking to say the least, but the fun ran out real fast when your trapped with a bunch of boarded family members. Only so many board games you can play.
