I knew Bill long before I knew Mike. Bill bought CC Charlie's about the same time I got back into Canal fishing. I was one of his first regulars. I was in my 20s and I didn't know %$%$%$%$. Bill was always patient with my questions. He treated me like family. Even after I moved to NY, and only went into the shop once or twice a season, I was still a regular to Bill. When Mike took over M&Ds, Bill introduced me to him, and he told Mike to "treat me right".
Bill's been fighting this for a long time. I remember when Brad the Hawg Man told me about it, and how the doctors told him to "put his affairs in order" many years ago. Bill didn't accept that. He fought. He didn't let it affect his life. He went on doing the things he loved to do, and enjoyed his family. He got to watch Felicia grow into a remarkable young woman. He fought like a banshee until the very end. He was a good man. I'll miss him terribly.
