Been getting large fish from shore pretty steadily since late May. So far the best spring I've had for quality fish since the early 90's. I've taken close to 20 fish in the 25-33# range so far from the surf and countless high teen to low 20# size. Everything on rubber and wood except for one fish. Numbskull will be proud of me.Hopefully it will continue with the new moon coming up.

You're probably catching more large fish on one tide then I've caught all year....but you're always welcome.

Same pattern as last three seasons here in Narragansett. Very good in April and may but June has been a bust for me with large fish and schoolies. It is very disturbing that the numbers of small fish just are not there anymore. I know people cringe when the"old days" are brought up but bass fishing in general was much better in the 80's and 90's than it is now, at least from shore in my opinion.

Agreed 100% Steve - the general lack of consistent fish the past 3 seasons, and most noticeably the lack of schoolies where there should be many schoolies, is very disturbing. Something's wrong... The Fall of 2005 was great for me but since then... (actually, it's been off since the Bay's bunker arrived in the spring of 2006).

And due to much more important family obligations I missed April & the first 2 weeks of May this year - so that tells you how my season's been so far. Only a few teen sized fish & some schoolies.
