After a lot of laughing and picture taking we broke out the birthday plates and napkins (nice touch by Wendy) however there was an issue. Before the knife came out Roy's rod went over. The timing of this can only be described as God sent. I mean it was literally the minute we stopped taking pics and had things set up to enjoy the cake that the rod went down.

About ten minutes later Roy's real birthday suprise was on the beach. Some measuring and minor surgery to insert a NOAA tag and the Brown/Sandbar Shark was released.

A great time was had by all that night and I just had to share this with your guys. I can think of no more deserving angler to have timing of a catch like this. Here are two more pics.
