Plan for 09 was BI and some of the south shore of RI but I think I may just concentrate on BI and do a separate one of mainland RI, I have to go thru them all still. There are a lot of interesting nooks and cranny's on BI to look at...we'll see, I am putting it together this week.
BTW, as always I will toss in all the misc photos I took along the way on the disk (like this one) in full res. (New camera this year...cannon 12mp slr, raw images should be blowable to poster size with photo quality)

you know, I used to feel the same way, but in a couple a years it will be obsolete anyway and not worth much so take it for those good pics. I have my old dig rebel with the zoom and gave it to my kid.
Get a good bag and keep it in the bag and take it out for the special shot. Keep the pocket digital for the regular action. I like canon lenses too, that is the only reason I keep buying their camera. Most of the money is in the lens anyway, so just upgrade cameras and keep the lens.
What is amazing about that camera is how fast it is. You turn it on...and it is on, you push the button and it starts cranking photos fast!. I got an 8 GB card and it does the job. The battery is also very good.
I wish I would have had that camera for when I had that blue marlin on...I am kicking myself for not bringing it. The pocket cameras just can't take those kind of photos, the lens is just too small.

Nice pics, in the second one I swear I see a fish.
I just picked up a Sony Sigma A350 14MP, and 2 zooms. I still have my Maxum 5000i as well, and a great pocket digital, an Olympus Stylus (water resistant). I was working in Hull today, and Nantasket was ripping this morning, I was wishing I had the Sony in the truck. The surfers were having a ball, and there would have been some great shots for sure.
