"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

I admit it was very painful and we were not dressed for the weather and it was hard to launch the boat over someones front lawn across there back yard and into the water but we did it. It worked out well at the end of the day too.Luckily I was able to fill in most of the tire tracks over the lawn, geez the boat is pretty heavy I guess. We were able to gut and fillet the fish on those nice folks glass top patio table using their garden hose. The were not home so we let them some bluefish as a thank you.

I humbly accept this title and will work just as little as I have so far to keep it.
