I hear ya, but the tune Lodi is about trying to make a living in music. I moved to Hollywood, played in a tons of bands and tried to make a living in music. Not a waste of time, you're right, some of the best times of my life actually. But the artistic quest leaves me empty. I remember mastering a difficult jazz head on guitar and playing it perfectly, I then mindlessly strummed a few chords and my girlfriend (at the time) said "Now THAT sounds good!"
