Palomar,San Diego Jam Knot and uni to uni for braid to mono or fluoro.

All my connections to terminal tackle are five turn Uniknots made with a doubled line.

For my heavier set-ups (bait and metal slingers) I only use braid casting leaders .

For those braid to braid connections I double the running line (20lb or 30lb Sufix) and tie a 5 turn Uniknot over the braid leader (65lb to 100lb) and then another 5 turn uni in the leader backed up tight to the running line knot. Tighten down as much as possible before trimming as close as possible.

Palomar to swivel. Easy to tie. Easy to tie at night, with wet hands and 56 year old eyes, and a flashlight jammed in your teeth. Almost impossible to tie wrong.
