You wear a cycling helmet to go surfcasting, provided you did not just have bran surgery.
You attach a glow stick to your leader to see where casting.
You try to drive your 2 wheel drive Lexus sedan down the beach.
You attach a bobber to your bucktail because you lost a couple letting them sink to far.

Actually, that could just be someone being careful. One of the regulars at Montauk, in his 70's, wore a bike helmet while rock hopping on the south side.

Some 20 years ago, we got down to be beach, only to find the 4 wheel drive access closed and cops everywhere. We find out some drunken idiot drove a station wagon (one of those big late 70's models) half a mile down the access road and then proceeded to pass out . It took 2 wreckers to get him out (the first one got stuck also ).

Used to happen in Montauk all the time. Easy access onto the beach in town and some people in 2 WD sedans, sometimes drunk, sometimes not, would drive onto the beach.
