In Massachusetts it is rare when anyone serves time for a death that occured during a car crash. If they do it is minimal. My huge exception is that he didn't go in after her. And neither did his buddies when he went back to the house.

Good lord Swimmer, I haven't seen such reason from you in a lo...um...ever!

I've said it before, but even though I don't like Kennedy's politics all of the time the man has my respect for being a servant of the people, and a lot of Republican Senators would agree.

Pretty lame when a man has brain cancer and all you can do is joke about something that happened 40+ years ago. Sounds like Beavis and Butthead.

Thanks Swimmer. I believe that you're right.
Most folks don't realize the good that the Senator has done and continues to do for the working stiff. I didn't know what he had done for the 911 families of this Commonwealth, must not have been used for publicity as some would have done.
I believe he's a good man who may or may not have screwed up that night. Don't know, wasn't there....

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

He is going to kick the bucket any day now...they are trying to wrap up all the nice things they can before he goes. The Globe did a several day history of the man a couple weeks or a go.

I was never a big fan of the guy. That said he has done many very nice things for individuals and groups under the radar which I commend him for. Also he has made an attempt at times to comprise with the other side but he is usually very stubborn.
My main reason for my dislike is two fold, 1) I disagree with his policy's and 2) I feel he is always trying to buy votes via give backs. "I will give/get you ________ (fill in the blank) for your vote." This became blatantly obvious when the courted all the illegals to and was pushing for their the right to vote and have drivers lic's and be able to get mortgages/jobs/health-care/education loans /etc without citizenship. In fact it was HE who REFUSDED to use the term illegal alian but instead created the term "undocumented alian" as a PC term...made me . I recall one time he knew exactly how many "undocumented" aliens there were (and where they were)...I ask you if they are "undocumented" how do you know how many (and where) the are? And shouldn't HE uphold the LAW which he took an oath to do? (which is to fine the employers and deport them) For this...I despise the man and quite frankly see him as a traitor trying to undermine the USA. I was PO'ed at BUSH for the same reason. He should have upheld the law. IMO it is part of the reason we are where we are today.

I respect the man for his years of public service. Really I do. He gave up his entire life for public service...a hell of alot more than me or most others .However his behavior has been appalling at times and not suitable to his office. I am upset that he continually got re-elected, clearly there are better people for the job. (Same goes for RI's "Patches" Kennedy...I've met this guy, he is an idiot.)

What's it all for & who really cares,is all of this because he's going to die sooner than later?
I don't think any of it matters,he's not going to bring this
'Honorary"achievement award with him when he leaves.

It's not about the social notoriety,I strongly feel it's about positive personal self belief & complete trust in God (or the God you believe in).that he will help us achieve what's really a priority in our lives.

These very positive achievements that we acquire through our life time is what truly defines us & shapes us into who we are.
