People in this country are amazingly unable to think for themselves. You guys right now are demonstrating how people merely jump on the partisan bandwagon.

Take spygate out of the equation and without doing some googling, tell me a couple of his policies that you disagree with now that he's a democrat in which you didn't disagree with a week ago.

These are the reasons few and few people respect the Republican party as a whole. This is also why so many reports of the Republicans needing to "change their image" have been coming out in past months.

I guess this week's Republican Kool-aid is Specter flavored. Enjoy.
What makes you assume I ever liked Spector? I don't drink the Kool-aid buddy.

It just shows you can't trust the Dems in power. They are two faced, hypocrites.

You really show your true Lib side every once in a while. You take to defending the far, far left way too personal.

He has always spent too much time "across the aisle" just like McCain does. They are/were RINO's and I never had a lot of good to say on either one. I voted McCain, because he's not a socialist. He has spent enough time leaning over to the left, that his one leg is shorter than the other now.

When I looked at the ticket I saw a Democrat and a Socialist, so I voted Democrat for McCain.

One good thing about this is in order to stop a filibuster they need one vote from the other party, with Spector gone, they may not have it.

Check his voting record at http://specter.senate.gov/public/ind...n.VotingRecord
He seemed to have voted along with democrats around 55% to 60% of the time.

I'm not defending anyone on the far left. This isn't a matter of me defending him because he's on the left. I would be saying the exact same thing if a dem turned republican and a bunch of left-wingers started bashing him out of the blue.

Your line of "You take to defending the far, far left way too personal" is exactly what's wrong with politics. Aside from the fact that Spector is nothing close to the "far, far left", this piss-poor attitude of "you're with us or against us" is why nothing gets accomplished in Congress any more.

Criticize someone that's on the Right, and you're a crazy liberal.
Criticize someone that's on the Left, and you're a money hungry Conservative.

There is no middle ground any more. A moderate political ideology is mostly unacceptable to both sides. And that's the issue with a two-party system.
